A Humpback whale tail powers through the surface displacing a large volume of water which forms a stunning spectacle in the sunlight. With tails that can grow to 5.5m wide, these large marine mammals are extremely powerful. This specific interaction was a male competing against other males in a heat run in hope to impress a female and gain mating rights. This impressive manourve would surely gain the females attention, especially if she surfs.
